4 teenagers charged in attack on lesbian couple on London bus
Four teenagers, aged between 15 to 17, have been charged in the attack on lesbian couple on London bus. Melania Geymonat and her girlfriend, Chris, both in their 20s, were assaulted on May 29 after refusing to kiss when a group of young men forced them to. The women were attacked and left bloodied and the photo went viral, sparking outrage (read here). London's Met police released a statement saying four teenage boys aged 15 to 17 have now been charged for committing an aggravated hate crime. One 16-year-old was also charged with theft and handling stolen goods while another 16-year-old was charged for the possession of cannabis. The teenagers are expected to appear in youth court on Aug. 21.
