Two nabbed for snatching Taxify driver’s car in Lagos
The Lagos State Police have arrested and arraigned two suspects, Daniel Abah, 27, and Edwin Edache, 31 for stealing a Taxify driver’s car along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos. The suspects from Benue state had boarded the vehicle to Ibeju-Lekki area of the state sometime last month, but ended the trip halfway by pouring petrol on the face of the driver for refusing to park the Toyota Corolla car and hand over the key to them. Daniel Abah and Edwin Edache were arrested, after the car snatching incident was reported to the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Maroko Division. They were subsequently arraigned before the Igbosere Magistrates’ Court on three counts bordering on robbery, after they confessed to stealing the car and planning to sell it to raise money for a business. However upon being arraigned before Magistrate S. Sasanya, the suspects pleaded not guilty and were granted a bail of N200,000 each with two sureties in like sum. While the case was adjourned till July 19, 2019, the duo are to be remanded in the Ikoyi Prison, Lagos, till they perfect the bail conditions.
